Account Layout Templates

Open the Delphinium Admin Area for an Account

Note: You will need Canvas admin rights to view the Canvas Admin area.

1. Click Admin in the vertical "icon link bar" in the "left-hand side of the page".

   • The "Canvas admin area" will appear.

2. Click Delphinium in the "left-hand menu".

   • The "Delphinium admin" area will appear.

   • If necessary, click the Accounts tab.

   • The "Delphinium account list" will display.

3. Click View in the row of the account where you want to work with Delphinium layouts

   • Delphinium data for that account will display

Create an Account Level Layout Temp from an Existing Course

The simplest way to create an account level layout template is to save the layout in an existing course as a  template.

• If necessary, click the Courses tab to view a list of courses

• If necessary, use the Search box to find the course you want to create a layout from

• Click Save as Template in the row of the course you want to create a layout from

  • The new templated will be displayed in the Layouts tab

Create an Account Level Layout Temp by Copying another Template

Copying and modifying an existing global or account level layout template is an easy way to create an account level layout template.

• If necessary, click the Layouts tab

• Click Copy in the actions column for the row of the layout template that you wish to copy

  • A new row will be created containing the copied layout template

Create an Account Level Layout Template from Scratch

If necessary, you can create an account level template from scratch

• If necessary, click the Layouts tab

• Click + Create Template

  • The layout editor will appear

• Create the layout you desire

• Click Save & Close

  • The layout editor will close and a new row will be added the layout template list with your new layout template

Make a Layout Template the Default for New Courses

By default, Delphinium will use a global template as the template for new courses, unless users manually select a different template when adding Delphinium to a course. It is often convenient to make one of your own account level layout templates the default template in new courses. This will make it easier for teachers apply your template to their courses.

1. Uncheck the Use Default Global Template box

2. Select the radio button in the "Default" column for the row of the template that you want to make into the account default

Other Actions

These options are available in the Actions column of the layout template list:

1. View - view a layout template

2. Export - Download a template as a text file to share with Delphinium users in other Canvas accounts

3. Edit - Edit an existing layout template

4. Delete - Delete an existing layout template

Note: Global templates cannot be edited or deleted.
