Tag Manager

Tags are used to group assignments or alter how they, and other module items, are displayed. Tags are assigned to assignments or other module items using the Module Meta Data Manager. In this tutorial you will learn how to create and manage tags.

Open the Tag Manager

On the Delphinium page, in Teacher or Periscope View, click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the page.

The "Settings" dialog will open.


Click the Module Meta-data icon at the top of the screen.

There will be two sub-tabs called “Module Meta-data” and “Tag Manager.”


Click on the sub-tab Tag Manager. The “Tag Manager” tab will appear.

Create a Tag

Click Create Tag.


The “Create Tag” window will appear.





In the “Create Tag” pop-up window, you will enter the following information:

  • Name - this should be short, preferably one word

  • Short description - 2-4 words that describe the tag

  • Long description - 1-3 sentences that describe the tag

Different components will display some or all of this information to students.

Note: All fields are required before saving your customized tag.


Click Save Tag to complete creating your tag.






Click Update Page or refresh the page to see tag changes in the course.

Edit a Tag

Click the Edit icon in the row of the tag you want to edit.

The "Edit Tag" window will appear.






Make changes to the "Name", "Short Description", and/or "Long Description".


Click Save Tag.

Delete a Tag

Select the checkbox next to the tag(s) you wish to delete.

Click Remove.

The "Delete Tags" dialog will appear.





Select Yes to delete the tag(s).
