Delphinium Gradebook Student View
Students can access the "student view of the Delphinium Gradebook" by clicking the Grades tab in the top tabs bar in a Delphinium layout.
Note: Teachers can view the student view of the Delphinium Gradebook for a specific student by switching to periscope mode for that student, or by clicking the details button for that student in the student data table in the teacher view of the Delphinium Gradebook.
Note: While the teacher view of the Delphinium Gradebook is always available, the student view may be hidden in courses that are configured to use the Canvas Gradebook. This setting is found in the Layout Editor.
The "student view of the Delphinium Gradebook" is identical to the Details tab window for a student in the teacher view of the Delphinium Gradebook. It includes the following sections:
Tabs (Optional)
There may be multiple tabs at the top of the "Details" window. The first tab will always be "Assignments".
Note: You may also see other tabs, depending on which Delphinium components have been included in your Delphinium layout. These tabs will be automatically added by the Delphinium Configuration AI when they are required. These tabs are described in the tutorials for those components. If there are no extra tabs, then the tabs bar will not be displayed and the "Assignments" tab content is all you will see.
Stats
The top of the "Assignments" tab is a "stats dashboard" that displays information like the current grade and % of points earned out of points attempted.
Note: The "stats dashboard" is dynamic and may look different depending on which Delphinium components you are using in your course. The Delphinium Configuration AI will select the data that should be displayed there.
Assignment Table
The "assignment table" includes 1) a list of all assignments in the class, organized by Canvas' assignment groups. For each assignment, 2) you can view the points earned and the points possible. You can also 3) view a box and whisker plot that indicates how your score relates to the scores of the other students in the course, including the max, min, median, Q1, and Q3 scores.
Note: If your teacher has enabled the feature, you will also be able to click the name of an assignment and open it directly in a new tab.
View the Course Grading Scheme
When viewing the student view of the Delphinium gradebook, it is often useful to reference the grading scheme. For example, if a student wants to know how close they are to the next grade level. Students can view the "grading scheme" by mousing over the blue circle with an i in it next to the "Current Grade" header. A "tool tip" will appear that displays the grading scheme.
Component Tabs
Some Delphinium components (e.g., Milestone Tracker) add tabs to the Delphinium Gradebook Student View to display additional information that is useful when understanding grades.
